Live at Ludlow Castle 2026 Print Brief.
For this brief, I was inspired by a past illustration project in which I created a body of work following a stream of Consciousness poem. I wanted my design for Live at Ludlow Castle to feel fluid and almost alive- in order to embody the energy that I have experienced in Ludlow, watching and listening to bands play in the past.
BASTILLE 2023
Below are some photographs that I took a few years ago when I saw Bastille play in the castle. It was a surreal experience seeing my favourite band playing at a local venue, rather than having to trek all the way to a city to see them play! These photos have inspired the concept design above, where I wanted to depict local buildings and landmarks in Ludlow, such as the Market Hall and the Linney amongst the hustle and bustle of the large crowds gathering in the castle. I think it would be striking to depict the traditional and timeless beauty that Ludlow has to offer in a bold ink, whilst using mark making with watercolour to represent the experience of listening to the bands playing and the celebration within the walls of the castle.
